A real maritime encyclopædia…
Right at the heart of Monaco, the Naval Museum displays an outstanding
collection of over 250 models of ships, seascapes and marine objects,
enriched by the loan of many old models from the magnificent private
collection of HSH Prince Rainier III of Monaco.
Among the most remarkable models on display : a funeral boat found in an Egyptian
tomb, ships from Ancient Greece and Rome, ocean-liners such as the Titanic
and Le France. Visitors will also see models of training ships such as the Amerigo
Vespucci and the Belem, not forgetting several warships from La Jeanne
d’Arc to the battleship Missouri, impressive aircraft-carriers such as the Nimitz
measuring over 5 metres long, and numerous submarines of all nationalities.
Also on exhibit are a mine layer and a human torpedo, La Maiale from the Second
World War.
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on December 25th and January 1st.

Return to the Museum housing HSH the Prince of Monaco’s Collection
of Veteran Cars and take the escalators to the Esplanade du Centre
Commercial. On the righthand side of the “Kiosque”, Totem N° 3 on the
“Parcours Princesse Grace”
On November 19th, 1961, the Sports Event on Monaco’s National Fête
Day was held at the old Louis II Stadium. It was a match between the
professional teams of Monaco and Reims, in the French Football
Championship.
Follow the road to your right. Walk all along the Avenue Prince
Albert II. Cross over to the pavement facing the Louis II Stadium. Turn
right opposite the main entrance, then left after the entrance to the
car-park to walk around the Stadium. Between the bus lane and
the Avenue des Guelfes, Totem N°1 on the “Parcours Princesse
Grace”
On September 24th, 1977, HSH Princess Grace paid a visit to the children in
the Garderie Notre-Dame de Fatima, founded at her initiative to take care of
children aged 3 to 6 whose parents worked all day long.
Continue straight on as far as the Conciergerie of the Louis II
Stadium.
